[mapguide-users] change the layer symbol

I am trying to follow the examples from "Building symbol libraries with Autodesk Mapguide Enterprise" as the Hospital symbol samples.
When I tried to point to the SimpleSymboldefinition, the MGE 2009 UI didn't show the xml schema for my new symbol definition.
How I can solve this?

Are you asking how to change the symbols displayed for points on a
layer in Studio?

Open the layer, and double click the point preview.
Select the "Library" option in the symbol drop down, and browse to the
desired symbol.
