There was an error in Maestro 1.0.7 regarding points symbols in a layer.
You can upgrade to 1.0.8 and it should work:

If the layer does not render with the updated singly quoted strings,
there should be an entry in the server log file:
C:\Program Files\MapGuideOpenSource2.0\Server\Logs\Error.log
