Hi,
The ArcSDE provider has been built with gcc 3.4.3 which uses libstdc++6. I believe gcc 4.2 also uses libstdc++6.
I would guess that building with gcc 4.2 should work.

Does anyone know if the ArcSDE SDK shared libraries, which were built with GCC 3.2 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, will work with MG and FDO built with GCC 4.2? The libstdc++5 libraries are available on the machine.
