If you want to load SHP files into MapGuide you have the following options:

- Use webstudio, which comes bundled w/ the MapGuide Open Source
installation (http://yourservername/mapguide/webstudio/index.html)
- Purchase/Get a trial of Autodesk MapGuide Studio
(http://www.autodesk.com/mapguidestudio)
- Use MapStudio Open Source (http://code.google.com/p/mapstudioos)

If you want to load/create MGP files, use the site administrator
(http://yourservername/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php)

Hope that helps.
