If you are running MapGuide Server and the web extensions on the same
machine, the IpAddress should be set to 127.0.0.1.  You do not need to set
it to the WAN address.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm unable to login to site administrator once I've changed the IP address
from localhost.

I used  http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/659 ticket #659  because I
thought this is the procedure to change the IP address of the MapGuide
Server? On the install of MGOS I used the default of 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
and everything works. I then wanted to change it to my WAN IP address
(66.116.107.3) so I edited the following text files:

1.  webconfig.ini, under SiteConnectionProperties, change IpAddress to the
WAN IP Address (66.116.107.3)

2. serverconfig.ini, under SiteConnectionProperties, change IpAddress to the
WAN IP Address (66.116.107.3)

3. serverconfig.ini, under GeneralProperties, change MachineIp to the WAN IP
Address (66.116.107.3)

I then restart the MapGuide Server service and even restarted the server,
but no luck. Still getting the
"Fatal error encountered! Please login again." error message. The message
occurs both locally (http://localhost:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php) and
remotely (http://hostmapguide.com:8008/mapguide/mapadmin/login.php)

I'm kinda of at a lost what to do and think I might have to watch some past
episodes of MacGyver on youtube.com to figure it out :-)
