[mapguide-users] Segment or Peice of Line

Hey all; 

I am hoping someone else has run into this problem and successfully solved it!.....

I am trying to take a multilinestring and split it up into segments specified by distance.  My scenario is as such:

I have a set of roads that are shown on a map, this data is imported with shape files generated from engineers.  Right now, the app works great.  But.. I have a requirement where the user needs to break up a road into segments, each segment has specific attributes (what the road is made of, or what condition the road is in).  I have a UI that a user can break up a road into meter sections that they specify and set attributes on it.

Now, the spatial part.  As I said before, the data is stored as a MultilineString.  I need to almost query the spatial information and get sub select the spatial data from x to y.  We use a multilinestring b/c the roads can be curves etc.

I looked into Mapguides library, and it seems they have everything except this.  

Any help would be much appreciated.  Thanks!
