An FDO for DWG is an excellent idea as DWGs are currently imported as dumb
images unless the drawing entities are classified. In my case a large extra
step as 1.) all my blocks need to be modified to record their info as object
data via some yet-to-be-created-by-us interface and B.) the extensive
legacy entitiy data (as in vlax-ldata-get) we use for engineering work does
would need to be completely re-written via .net and III.) we would need to
purchase/learn something like visual studio.

It would seem a market penetrating step on Autodesk's part to make the use
of DWG data from blocks and ldata available to the less sophisticated
programmers (like me) to get better penetration of the MGE product right out
of the box. Not everyone is a programmer, municipality or has deep pockets.

Just my $0.02 worth...

My goals are to become incredibly wealthy and remain completely anonymous.
I'm halfway there...
