Have you edited the WMS settings in the Site Admin to rename localhost to the machine name or IP Address?

Have you modified the overall WMS config? By default, I think it may
point to localhost, and the initial metadata response points the
clients to that instead of the running IP. What does your
GetCapabilities WMS response look like?
