[mapguide-users] Is MapGuide Right choice?

Hi All,
I am trying to get Raster images from MassGIS website. After I get raster
images, I am going to create vector points (shapefile) by giving longitude
and lattitude.

I am also going to track a person based on longitude and lattitude of his
journey and display his movement on screen by drawing a linestring (by
joining all longitude and lattitude) and showing this linestring with a
background raster image of that area.

I can do this by using google maps but I want to use some open source GIS
system as google map require licence.

My question is: Is MapGuide a right choice for this application?
