I said I would not report back, but in any case I tried the patch without
having .aux or .aux.xml files and the patch worked properly.  Thanks for
pointing that patch out to me...as my original post stated...I must be an
ignorant soul.  However, maybe someone that is still using MGOS 2.1 will
benefit from my findings...
