Hi Steve,

What you're showing is the feature source.  The raster providers (both
Autodesk and GDAL) also support a sidecar configuration document that lists
the filenames and extents for an entire set of images, improving the
performance when you're zoomed in.  Basically, the provider does a quick
check between the requested extents and those in the config file to narrow
down the images that need to be requested.
