[mapguide-users] sum of a field on selected items

Hi,

I have a form with javascript that gives me the number of features that are
currently selected : ***GetSelectedCount() ;

*Now I wanted a method for the sum of a field, it's easy with SQL: 'SELECT
SUM (population) AS Total FROM Agencies '

But I want the sum of a field on selected items, i can do that in javascript
or php ?????
