MapGuideApiEx.jar cannot be used in 2.2.

Unfortunately, the Java API in MGOS 2.2 and older releases have some serious
memory leak issues that make it unsuitable for building Java MapGuide
applications.

And yes, Java sample code is a bit lacking. JSPs is all we have because it
appears there's just not enough interested Java programmers in the MapGuide
community to put out or demonstrate more canonical examples of the MapGuide
Java API in [your Java web framework of choice]
