Hi. I don't know what exactly do you mean with "I'm not sattisfied with the
result", but you can start try this: 

<Filter>VIA  Like '%$USER_VARIABLE%'</Filter>

In this way the user is not obliged to write the exact word to match, but
only a part of it. 

And about at the end: 
<StatusText> ... Here you write a message for the user ... </StatusText>
