I think there was talk of turning tile cache sets into a new type of resource that could be assigned to map definitions. This is the so-called re-usable tile cache that solves the problem of constantly clearing tile caches whenever changes to the map are made. http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/Improving-the-tile-service-td5062477.html#a5085825 

If that change was made in MapGuide Open Source that's a whole new resource type for Maestro to deal with. Would Maestro still be able to edit it?
