The original fix for selection broke the selection on joined data (MG406).  The first fix with this artifact fixed the join case but broke the non-joined data.  This final fix should take care of both joined and non-joined data.  For both cases, the feature classes will be examined to determine the correct class to use for retrieving identity properties which are used when highlighting the selected feature(s).
