  Use the web tier test pages to execute the GetSpatialContext API for a WMS/WFS feature source and you will observe that the returned XML is blank for the coordinate system WKT.

You can also create a layer from a WFS/WMS feature source in Studio and observe that the coordinate system and extents fail to be set.
