Steven,

If the sample works ok for you, then the problem is most likely with the
aliases 'mapviewerajax' and 'mapviewerdwf'

In your IIS console:

- Right click on 'mapguide' virtual folder and create a new
virtual folder from the context menu. Name the virtual folder
'mapviewerajax' and set the physical path to
<WebExtensionsDir>\mapviewernet. Give it the right to execute ASP
scripts

- Right click on the virtual folder 'mapviewerajax' and open
the property dialog. In the 'Documents' tab, make sure that "Enable
defaut document' is checked, remove any possible existing documents and
add 'ajaxviewer.aspx' to the list

- Right click on 'mapguide' virtual folder and create a new
virtual folder from the context menu. Name the virtual folder
'mapviewerdwf' and set the physical path to
<WebExtensionsDir>\mapviewernet. Give it the right to execute ASP
scripts

- Right click on the virtual folder 'mapviewerdwf' and open the
property dialog. In the 'Documents' tab, make sure that "Enable defaut
document' is checked, remove any possible existing documents and add
'dwfviewer.aspx' to the list

These virtual folders might already be defined on your machine but not
correctly set up. If that's the case I'd suggest deleting them and
recreating them with the steps above.

Restart IIS. You should see the preview working in Studio.

Alain,

I am using IIS on Windows XP Pro.

Within Studio, I open any of the Samples/Sheboygan/Layouts, click
Refresh in the Web Preview pane and all I see is text. (Not sure where
I'm supposed to see 'Go').

I can, however, view any and all of the samples via
http://localhost/Mapguide/dotnetviewersample/dwfviewersample.aspx or
http://localhost/Mapguide/phpviewersample/dwfviewersample.php.

Steven,

If you have an existing web layout in your repository, open it with
Studio's web layout editor, and click 'Go' to preview the web layout
within a web browser. If this is working then there is probably just a
problem with the configuration of the aliases "mapviewerajax" and
"mapviewerdwf" that Studio use for the preview window.

However If you see the same problem in the web browser as in the preview
window, then your web server is not properly configured to handle pages
with a php extension (or jsp or aspx depending on what you are using),
which causes these pages to be returned as text instead of being
executed. Tell us also if you are using Apache or IIS, and if you are
using PHP, JSP or ASP.NET.

Yes. It should work.

Is this supposed to be working? Mine just shows html source, not any of
the resources that are defined.
