[mapguide-users] OBDC - testing connection

Well, I've just tested it here too, and it works fine for me......so 
either you've got some software that's out of date, or else you're 
missing a step. Check to make sure that your .NET runtimes are up to 
date (just because everything else you listed seems to be ok). You 
followed the installation instructions for the ODBC FDO right? Assuming 
that you installed that right, then here are the steps that I just did 
to make this work:

1) copied the mdb to my c drive (where ever, so long as it's on a local 
drive - can't even be a mapped network drive - local to MapGuide Server).
2) set up an ODBC connection - for this, I made a new System DSN - 
default settings (called the DSN "testing")
3) started up Studio and then went to "Configure data connections" on 
the Getting Started page.
4) selected OSGeo FDO Provider for ODBC
5) picked my datasource from the list
6) saved the feature source (you have to do this in order to see any 
fields)
7) selected "Geometry"
8) pressed "Test Connection" and it worked fine.
