I was thinking that this might be accomplished with a hidden frame and a
meta refresh, but that's a pretty ugly hack

I am having this problem as well. Seems like the only solution will be
to have a periodic refresh of the map?

Note that you can change Session timeout and Session timer parameters in
administration pages
http://localhost/mapguide/mapadmin/servicesproperties.php

Not sure what the difference between the two is, but you could increase
them. May has an adverse effect on performance though.

Yeah...I'm seeing that with the app I'm creating now. Error states that
the Session has expired or is invalid.

Will turning off the password protection solve this problem?

Hi,

I understand that the viewer samples initiate a session when they are
initially loaded using hardcoded values. This works fine, but if you
leave the map alone for too long (the DWF version anyway) it times out
with an error message, and the only way to get it back appears to be to
refresh the browser.

I can see this being an issue with our front counter PCs which typically
have MapGuide loaded in a browser window all the time, but that window
might not be used for hours at a time.

Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Jason
