Hi Willem,
I think what you are looking for is already provided by MapGuide.
Try this:
Use the MG Site Administrator to create 2 users: CustomerA and
CustomerB.
Use the MG Site Administrator to assign Author roles to both CustomerA
and CustomerB.
Use MG Studio and log in as CustomerA.
Create a folder. Use the Permissions panel of Studio's Site Explorer to
remove "Everyone" and add "CustomerA" to the permission list.
Create a resource (map, layer, etc.) and save it to the folder.
Now connect Studio to the server as CustomerB.
Notice that you cannot see the contents of the folder that you created
as CustomerA.
Bill

I hope somebody has a thought on this....
Our company gives our customers the ability to host there development
plans for their city on our server. In the current situation this is on
Mapguide 6.5.
We give our customers FTP access to their folder on our site, so they
can upload MWF files themselves.
In the near future we would like to see those customers migrated to
Mapguide Open Source (or Enterprise). We also have a couple of new
customers who are interested in hosting on Mapguide Open Source on our
server.
Now here is our concern:
We would like to see that customers author their maps with studio,
through their own logins, but customer A can have only access to the map
of Customer A. The rest of the maps should be invisible for this
customer.
As far as I can tell, in the current version of MGos, in the Admin I can
create roles and groups, but this is limited to e.g. Map Author. Which
means that Customer A as a Map Author can log in with Studio, but will
see the maps of customer B, C etc...
Is Autodesk planning on creating a more map based-privilege system?
Are there any other options for this situation?
Thanks,
Willem
