RAM & RASTERS

Hello,  our server is utilizing over 100% of its 1 GIG of RAM when serving
tiled rasters. Redrawing is extremely slow. Is RAM the problem?   How much
RAM is recommended and how can we be sure that the rasters are tiled
correctly?  The same ECW rasters are tiled correctly when viewed in ArcGIS
and mapguide 6.3. thanks
