If you use the existing users session ID to establish a resourceService to
your map and then use the layer SetVisible method, it will only affect that
users session map and nobody else's.

Subject: [mapguide-users] Layer visibility [No Viruses detected]

Hello all

If I manipulate layer visibility programmatically, I believe I have to save
the map for such changes in visibility to take effect in the viewer.
However, this presumably affects all sessions, including both current and
future ones.

Is there any way to change the visibility of a layer in the context of the
current session only? A real world example is a map with lots of different
facilities layers, all of which are set not to display initially on the map.
I have created a search engine which returns links to zoom to various
features on a given layer. I would like the layer with those features on to
be made visible when someone performs that search, but I do not want this to
affect the visibility of that layer either in concurrent sessions, or in
future sessions. Is this possible?

Thanks

Tom
