Setting the Active Aelection with .Net

(although I have a mistake in my subject, sorry)

my code runs in the TaskPaneFrame. So I have to get to the SetSelectionXML()
function by this:
parent.parent.mapFrame.SetSelectionXML(selectionXml);

But I still have problems with "selectionXML". I add "var selectionXml =
'<%= selectionXml %>';" to my Javascript but it says that 'selectionXML' is
not defined. 

So how can I pass this variable from my code to Javascript function?
