[mapguide-users] Highway symbols

Currently, there is no easy way to do this because of the inability to
use symbols to label polyline features. One option is to modify the
source code to draw highway symbols for polylines, rather than draw the
text. Another option is to generate a point layer with the positions of
the highway labels and then overlay that on top of the highway
polylines.

Is there a way to draw highway symbols using Mapguide Studio instead of
using the Text attributes for a given road or roads?  And, if so how.
If not - what other options do I have.
