[MapProxy] recently recommended method to install mapproxy (debian squeeze)

Hi,

what is the recently recommended method to install mapproxy? The main HP
(http://mapproxy.org/) says:
#sudo easy_install mapproxy
while the docs for 1.0 say it is highly recommended not to do so but use
a virtual python envireonment instead:
http://mapproxy.org/docs/1.0.0/install.html
