[MapProxy] opacity not working?

Michael,
Thanks for your prompt response.
The WMS-service is not under my control.
It's an ArcGIS10 server (the one serving the layer which doesn't like te
be opaque).
Probably the image is quantised, but that's what we want as we are
aiming on mobile use.
Is there a way to see if the image is quantised?
Why is there a problem? Can it be mitigated?
