[MapProxy] Query re tile format

Hello

I am using a tile server that returns PNG tiles from an XYZ server.

The files are returned without file extension and come back with a content
type of text/plain

Map Proxy does not complains and says they are not image tiles, but the
same tile server displays fine in openlayers.

My question is can I override map proxy's GET handler and force it to
recognize the tile as a PNG
