redesign of the Mapserver query mechanism

I announced intention, not actually work. Big difference. ;-)

Nothing has happend with this. I've got ideas in my head about a grand
unification of query support with GEOS at the center, but it's nothing
more than a set of ideas and notes. There is a bug out there though
(although I'll probably file a series of new ones over time):

Sorry, wish I had more to report...

Hi list,

this is a question which probably can only be answered by Steve. Has
the
work on redesigning the Mapserver query mechanism already started and
what
is the timeline for this? Is there a bugzilla entry to cc to in order
to
keep up with the changes in this department of Mapserver?

For people who did not attend the MUM2 in Ottawa, June 2004, Steve
announced there to work on a redesign of the Mapserver query mechanism
(caching the results if I understood correctly, not avoiding 2 passes
to
database sources).

See e.g. the following thread:
http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/wilma/mapserver-dev/0403/msg00000.html

Best regards,
Bart
