configure issue with debug

Hi,

I have a requirement to compile MapServer with debugging turned on, so I
tried running ./configure with --enable-debug=yes, and got the following
error:

checking compiler warnings... basic
configure: checking whether we should enable debug features...
expr: syntax error
./configure: line 10130: test: too many arguments
        Enabling debug features: -g in CFLAGS and msDebug() to stderr
(-DENABLE_STDERR_DEBUG).
</snip>

I went ahead and ran make and all went fine, though.  With debugging
turned on.
