Bart,
The *intention* is that a FastCGI enabled binary should still work
fine in non-CGI mode. I can't say that I have actually tested all
the old style mechanisms (queries, legends, etc) so the problems
might be related to that, though I did test some simple mapping
in "old" MapServer CGI mode and that was working fine.
One thing to keep in mind when using a FastCGI enabled
executable on win32 in non-FastCGI mode, it is critical that
you have applied the patches to the fast cgi client library
that are listed in the wiki. Otherwise the file stream is left
in text mode and any images returned will be corrupted.
If your problems aren't related to that I think you will need to
submit detailed bug reports and I'll dig into the problems.
