Retrieving Attribute Data from Layer using Mapscript

Hello,
Could someone tell me how I would go about retrieving the data associated with an object on a layer?

Basically I want to click on the map and get back the attribute data for the selected object.

I have been looking at layerObj.queryByPoint which seems to do what I want, but I'm not sure how to then get the data from the results.
