compile error on latest CVS

Tom,

I saw this error at one time too on the buildbot 
(a while ago).  I think it is actually a bug in 
gcc, but I'm not sure.  After doing a yum update, 
it magically disappeared for me.  Neither the 4.8 
branch or HEAD seem to currently have the issue 
on the buildbot <http://mapserver.builds.hobu.net>
