Eek, looks a bit too much like the Schutzstaffel (SS) logo to me when you put it in as the S for MapServer.

I do like the letters in each block (top right).  Maybe if they were chloropethed in some way - one block/letter a nice blue, another a nice green, etc..

Also, logo design by mailing list... maybe that's a bit too consensus oriented :)
