Hello developers,
I would like to renew [1] my application for commit access to the
MapServer documentation repository. I read and understood MS RFC 7.1:
MapServer SVN Commit Management
Background:
The goal is to create an up to date german enduser manual. I started
with translating the mapfile reference (everything in folder mapfile).
For now I can offer the translation (without the symbology example and
description, will come later) if there is any interest.
Maybe the wording of some phrases need to be altered, but for now it
should be ok.
I also volunteer to update the german docs when new MapServer features
are added or other changes are necessary.
As its just a part translated, I'm not sure how to contribute. I could
commit the translated files to an ms-docs-de directory or something
similar. Maybe someone else has an idea how to handle the directories.
I will continue to translate but with focus on end user docs. So RFCs,
guidelines and other development stuff will have to wait, i don't think
that everything has to be translated.
Would be nice to get some feedback...
Have a nice day!
Lars
