I was startled to see mention of a "FOSS4G 2003" - whoa hold on here. 
We can't use that FOSS4G brand for all of the past events (someone is 
going to be left out and upset).  (the firs use of that name was the 
event in Thailand in 2004) For what it's worth, I strongly disagreed 
with this and I have made comments in the appropriate ticket.  (but it 
looks like i'm too late)   http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo/ticket/530
