I just remembered that Frank fixed/implemented single-pass query support
for OGR in r9640 and we were debating whether this should be backported
to 5.6:

I suggest we go ahead with 5.6.1 today without this, and if there is
enough interest then we should thoroughly test r9640 in 5.6 and then
decide whether we can include it in 5.6.2.
Any thoughts?
