Don't think so. All the msautotest/query tests fail to and they ran fine mid-day yesterday. Sounds to me like the output format handling wrt templates is foobar...

Then there must be something wrong with how ./run_test.py is running rfc36.map
$ cat result/rfc36_geojson.js
<!-- MapServer version 6.0.0-beta1 OUTPUT=GIF OUTPUT=PNG OUTPUT=JPEG OUTPUT=KML SUPPORTS=PROJ SUPPORTS=AGG SUPPORTS=FREETYPE SUPPORTS=ICONV SUPPORTS=WMS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WMS_CLIENT SUPPORTS=WFS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WFS_CLIENT SUPPORTS=WCS_SERVER SUPPORTS=SOS_SERVER SUPPORTS=THREADS SUPPORTS=GEOS SUPPORTS=POINT_Z_M INPUT=POSTGIS INPUT=OGR INPUT=GDAL INPUT=SHAPEFILE -->

If you're not using an output format then obviously the template does need to exist and be valid. However since the tests are all using output formats TEMPLATE 'dummy' is perfectly valid. Issue 2 is not relevant to the testing...
