Short answer: yes we could do it, and that should be fairly quick (i.e. 
package should be published within a few hours of the release unless we 
encounter unexpected problems)

Longer answer: Alan is on vacation for the week, but we have Jérôme here 
who has worked with Alan on the last round of package updates and could 
take care of posting the release to UbuntuGIS for use by the LiveDVD team.

I'll have a look at the patch and comment in the ticket.
