You mean the default value I assume. I don't have a strong feeling one way or another. On one hand I like opting for conservative default configs in terms of server load. On the other hand making it behave out of the box as one might expect with minimal config is also a good idea. Consider me a +0...

Would it be an idea to enlarge the MAXSIZE parameter of the MAP object to 4096? It's 2048 at the moment, and many computer and laptop screens have resolutions larger than that. And you don't notice the problem until someone with a better screen than you have mails you that he "doesn't see anything", or gets a red screen with OpenLayers.
