Hi Tom,

+1, this would definitely be a great addition.

Maybe extend the "Backwards Compatibility Issues" section a bit as it
suggests that ows_metadata_path overrides all other metadata parameters
but as discussed on IRC this is more the other way round.

What happens if both ows_metadataurl_href and ows_metadata_path are set?

In future this could also be a great addition for INSPIRE services but
would need to support the INSPIRE mandated metadata format.
