I would like that the open layers environment variable could be mentioned here as well in the documentation.

It took me a long time to find this out.  Finally I got told at the FOSS4G last year by Daniel.

As this can happen any time, I would like to mention the environment variable MS_OPENLAYERS_JS_URL  [1] You can set it to a self hosted location, which was helping me in this case.
