Configuration could always be added later if it is determined to be necessary. I agree that not having to fiddle is a good thing and lessens the learning curve.

So, I'm +1 for the RFC "as is" and +1 for including in 7.0.

This sounds reasonable to me. I like being able to configure things, but I like it better when they just work nicely without a lot of fiddling because it makes it a lot easier for users. So unless there is some great need to have additional configuration parameters I would leave them out.
