[mapserver-dev] [OSGeo-Live] Bug #1586 MapServer demo application not compatible with version 7.0

You’ll have to do a little more to the install script than my pull request did. That script expects the demo to uncompress in a folder called “workshop” and your zip file is different. Should be a trivial change…

Thanks Steve, I used that repository to upload the zip file to download.osgeo.org<http://download.osgeo.org>.
As you suggested, it would be better to use the git repository directly in the install script for the configuration.

Lets test now :)

Best,

I have an updated version of the demo at https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver-demo. It uses Jeff's updated mapfile and I cleaned up a few things like broken links in the WMS abstracts, nothing much. It works with 7.0 and is what's in the .zip archive OSGEO Live will hit. The MapServer install script for OSGEO Live has a number of hacks in place to deal with how the zipfile unpacks so I left that configuration alone until we have something better.

There is certainly room for improvement if anyone is interested in a project!

Steve

Yes that was my point, I recommend starting with the MS4W itasca files
because it already works with MapServer 7. -jeff

The demo is extremely dated and does little to show off capabilities of newer versions and moving into git might encourage updates.
