[mapserver-dev] GitHub MapServer project membership?

Dear MapServer enthusiasts,
I find GitHub email notifications super useful to keep track of changes
to MapServer's code and issues. However, in order to select which of my
email address receives those notifications, I would need to be added as
a 'MapServer project member' on GitHub [1].
Would the MapServer leaders be open to add people with little interest
to actually contribute code to the MapServer project on GitHub? That
would at least be a benefit to me :-) From what I see [2], simple
members don't have any special permission that could wreak havoc.
I fully agree that GitHub itself should allow users to select email
addresses for individual repositories. I asked and they answered that
they'll consider this future improvement, but there's no way for me to
say if/when that's going to be implemented. The simple solution is for
me to become a 'member' of the GitHub project, if that sounds possible
or makes sense to the MapServer crowd.
Thank you for considering :-) --Alex
