Hi Steve / all,
The deadline for a MapServer project status talk is tomorrow as mentioned by Vasile: https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/mapserver-dev/2019-April/015657.html
I've written a first draft below - I'd appreciate feedback / comments / suggested edits. Will any other PSC members be in Bucharest? It would be good to have a C developer alongside to handle any questions on PROJ6 headers and the like.
I'll need some assistance with slide(s) on the codesprint outcomes as unfortunately I won't be able to attend. Also help for associated projects such as ms4w and Zoo project. If I've missed any please let me know and I'll add them in.

State of MapServer
A description of MapServer [1] and a brief history of its development will be outlined, along with a summary of the project health including numbers of active contributors and mailing list users, and project steering committee changes.
MapServer 7.4 will be released this year. The main focus of this release is MapScript - MapServer’s scripting language, and we'll review the various language options available along with other changes and lesser known features from recent releases. A summary of development from the recent OSGeo codesprint in Minnesota, and the road map towards MapServer 8 will be presented.
An overview of projects related to MapServer will be given including MapCache [2], MapServer for Windows [3], GC2 [4], mappyfile [5], and the Zoo project [6]. Finally we'll look at how to get involved with MapServer and help with the continued success of the project at any technical level.
