I agree on the 7.4 target, that will give it a nice MapScript focus. I see you have already requested a review from Tamas and I'll defer to his experience...

Hi devs,

There is an open pull request at https://github.com/mapserver/mapserver/pull/5733 on making some minor modifications to the C# MapScript wrappers and build process to allow them to be built on Linux using DotNetCore. 
I've reviewed the changes so far, and the developer @	3x0dv5/Rui has added in the builds to Travis along with running the test applications, and think this would be an excellent addition/feature for the upcoming 7.4 release which has several MapScript related updates.  
Does anyone have any comments or issues on the pull request?
