[MapServer-dev] MapServer User Survey Results 2026

Hi all,

I have closed the "2026 MapServer User Survey" and uploaded the results (stripped of any emails) to a new private repository at https://github.com/MapServer/mapserver-user-surveys. All PSC members should have access to this. 

We had 77 responses in the end, and I'll be providing a summary in the State of MapServer presentation at FOSS4G Europe 2026. We'll probably want to arrange a PSC meeting to discuss further, for example there is only one user of SOS so it might be a good candidate for removal in MapServer 9.0. In terms of new features OGC Maps API is the standout response. 

The general open feedback is probably the most interesting, just remember MapServer.. "Makes life worth living"!
