Strange behavior ....

Oh yeah, the base layers all show up the just fine (the ones in lcc).
That's a good idea, I'll try a few things with the ocmmand line version of
proj see what happens,
although I'm even less of a projection specialist than any of you, since I'm
actually an IT guy
at heart :)
