[mapserver-users] query points from database

If you store them in PostGIS/PostgreSQL it is very straightforward. 

Otherwise, I am not sure I know an obvious winner. If your points are
not too volatile, a dump-to-shape + query-DB-with-php system might meet
your needs. We did something similar to join up a non-volatile shape
dataset of parcels with a volatile oracle database of parcel attributes.
